Privacy policy
Last updated : November 3, 2026
This policy is provided in English for convenience. The French version at /confidentialite is also available.
1. Who is responsible
The person responsible for protecting your personal information is Rémi Paquin, owner of Fantômes. To reach them: fantomes.contact.qc@gmail.com.
2. What we collect, and why
- Your name and email, entered when you pay: to reply to you and refund you if needed.
- Your payment details: processed by Stripe. We don’t see your card number. We only receive confirmation of the payment, its amount and your email.
- Your statements: read in your browser. They are neither sent to Fantômes nor kept by us.
- The result of the analysis (names and amounts of the charges found): while you pay, it is kept in your browser’s storage, on your device only, so we can show it to you when you return. It is not sent to Fantômes. The “Start over” button erases it.
- Technical data (IP address, device type), seen by our host when you visit, to run and secure the site.
3. Services we use
- Stripe, for payment.
- Vercel, for hosting the site.
- jsDelivr, which delivers to your browser the library used to read PDFs. It may see your IP address when you drop in a PDF statement.
- Google (Gmail), for the emails we exchange.
Some of these services are located outside Quebec and Canada, notably in the United States: your information may be processed there.
4. Cookies and analytics
To date, this site uses no advertising cookies and no tracking tool. If audience measurement is added, this policy will be updated.
5. How long we keep it
Information linked to your purchase is kept for 6 years, then destroyed or anonymized.
6. Automated decisions
The analysis of your statements is automatic and only serves to present you a list. No decision is made about you.
7. Your rights
You may ask to access your information, to have it corrected, or to withdraw your consent, and ask for it to be deleted within the limits set by law. Write to fantomes.contact.qc@gmail.com. If you live in Quebec, you may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec. If you live elsewhere, you may have additional rights under local law (for example in the EU or the UK), which we will honour on request.
8. Changes
We may change this policy. The update date at the top of the page shows the version in force.
